Marvel had effectively washed its hands of the Comics Code about two years before this Avengers story was published. Still, I think I remember my jaw dropping when I first saw it:
I'm afraid to ask how Jan reciprocated, but I imagine the Comics Code office stopped returning calls around that time.

I think comics like these are an affront to both man and God...and I don't even like people nor am I religious.
I guess we take this as definitive proof that size is not the issue?

I may be an old fuddy-duddy, but once superhero comics went down this route, the world was never the same again. And neither were comic sales.
