Watching the Punisher get absolutely nowhere with Ulik helps rank the Marvel Universe so very nicely. We know Thor is tough, but so seeing him wade into strange monsters and withstand cosmic blaster magic lacks a frame of reference. Seeing Ulik laugh off bullets and bombs and then knowing Thor is capable of beating the troll snot out of Ulik puts things in tidy perspective.

Or maybe I just like seeing the Punisher get beat up?

I also much enjoyed a Hulk issue where the Banner-Hulk returned to Las Vegas to clean up some loose ends from his Mr. Fixit days. He ran across the path of Punisher and Frank likewise wasted a lot of ammo ruining Hulk's suit.Big Murrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03311467081145732439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4142199900369238852.post-44057336400552268982017-02-18T06:40:43.305-05:002017-02-18T06:40:43.305-05:00As we'll see, M.P., Code: Blue indeed provides...As we'll see, M.P., Code: Blue indeed provides a nice balance to the book with their appearances as far as coping with the stakes involved in battles where the Thunder God is concerned. Thor continues to be one of Marvel's boldest heroes in Tom DeFalco's portrayal of him, and the mortal heroics of Code: Blue work quite well in DeFalco's stories.
Comicsfanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10064955427593820783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4142199900369238852.post-7274572812299110922017-02-17T18:39:33.838-05:002017-02-17T18:39:33.838-05:00P.S....thanks for showing the Punisher/Ulik clash,...P.S....thanks for showing the Punisher/Ulik clash, and the kind mention, C.F. I kinda figured you might find that titanic battle worthy of note! I just ran across it a couple months ago, myself, and thought, "I gotta see this."

M.P.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4142199900369238852.post-16367958142790246222017-02-17T17:28:14.943-05:002017-02-17T17:28:14.943-05:00Ulik has found that eating a regular portion of hi...Ulik has found that eating a regular portion of high caliber bullets keeps him regular!

There were a lot of things to like about the DeFalco/Frenz Thor, including Lt. Stone and crew. They added a lot of drama and complexity to the comic, and it made this a much more interesting issue than one that just depicted Thor bouncing his hammer off Ulik's head for the 200th time.

M.P.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
