When Leather Rode The Wind!

I don't think there's ever been a makeover that bowled over Marveldom Assembled quite like this one:

We found out pretty quickly how Kitty Pryde felt about it:

But what about you? Did you:
a) Sob your eyes out like Kitty?
b) Condense your verbal response to an expletive better known by three letters?
c) Give it the thumbs up?
d) Give it an altogether different finger extension?
e) Think it was about time for a change in Ororo's appearance?
f) Call Chris Claremont names that wouldn't even occur to Charlie Sheen?
g) Wonder why Ororo was suddenly pronouncing "hello" as "hullo"?

My response was something like, "I'm known far and wide neither for particular intelligence nor good taste but both these limited qualities such as they do abide in me have been sorely offended this day!"
Actually, it was choice "b." Both responses mean pretty much the same thing.
X-men. Sheesh.

P.S.: Did this come out after Beyond Thunderdome, by any chance? I forget.

My responses were a combination of:
b), d), f) and g). Even though I generally liked Paul Smith's all-too-brief tenure as X-artist, it was about this time that I started to become rather disenchanted with the title. I nonetheless slogged on for a while, about 2 years, before dropping out.
And I'm pretty sure this came out a good 2-3 years Beyond Thunderdome...

Kitty was right to be upset, it's horrible - all of Storm's nobility and dignity went out the window.

a! All night long. Then more "A" into the next day.

The Prowler (Doo Doo Doo-ing all the day and all of the night)

I'd say B.

I didn't like it and it confused me when I saw it. I certainly didn't expect it to stick.
