Cribs

Out of all the state-of-the-art bases you've seen in Marvel's various comics, which appeals to you the most?

How about:

Yellowjacket's Hornest Nest Hideaway (if you don't mind occasional tremors from woodpeckers):

The scientific wonders to be found in the Beehive (along with some evil scientists):

Castle Doom (complete with lackeys who would cower in your presence):

The S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier:

Garokk's City of the Sun God (the ultimate winter chalet, and then some):

Sanctuary II (there's nothing like having your own floating armory and instrument of death):

The orbital bliss of Asteroid M:

Galactus' Worldship (come on, how can you top a base that dwarfs planets??)

Magneto's Antarctic Base (assuming you can manage to enter and exit without being incinerated):

Or, if you have something else in mind:

Name your own!

I always liked th Baxter Building best.

When did Yellowjacket have an HQ like that?

It was in this story from Avengers #s 59-60.

I think I have to go with Galactus' ship. What a trippy Kirby design -it's like a Moebius pretzel.

Loved Yellowjacket's little hideaway since I first saw it; it's like a high-tech treehouse. One thing I always wondered about, though: was it actually tiny like an actual hornet's nest, or 'normal' sized. I'm assuming the former - either way, it's so cool, and it's a pity it was never used again (as far as I know).

Edo, both your questions can be answered in Avengers #38 (the one by Kurt Busiek and Alan Davis)--but basically, you're half right. :)

I would go with Sanctuary II. It had a time machine, a solar cannon, a trophy room with a balcony and a stasis machine that allows you to gloat over your captured foes, comes complete with an army of murderous alien criminal thralls from across the galaxy, and probably what I presume is a fairly decent cafeteria.
Hey gang, cheer up...it's meatloaf Monday!
